Hanson-class Tactical Response Vessel Instructions

$9.94

This model is based on concept art by John Eaves for Star Trek: Picard. The following lore is fan-created:

Named for the late Admiral Hanson, this ship was developed as a fast-response vessel in case of another Borg incursion, ensuring that Starfleet would never be caught off-guard again. Ships of this class were named after those lost during the battle of Wolf 359, and carried hull fragments of ships destroyed there. Unfortunately, these ships would not be available when the next Borg incursion occurred, as the extra pair of nacelles that allowed for fast response times also created development and upkeep issues that kept many in drydock for extended periods of time. Only the prototype USS Hanson was able to participate, though it was damaged beyond repair during the battle.

These ships would eventually see a refit which attempted to resolve some upkeep issues and bring down their repair costs, but this proved too little too late. Their role was soon replaced by the simpler Inquiry class, and the remaining ships were stripped down and used as the basis for the in-development Sagan class. One such ship, the USS Stargazer, would unknowingly be the first Federation vessel to respond to the next Borg incursion, finally fulfilling the class’s original purpose.
